Shalom School was founded in 2007. It was started to help the orphans , widow’s children and street children. What started as a school with just two students has now grown to six hundred students who attend yearly.
Shalom School provides:
Meals of rice, beans and porridge at lunch and milk for the kindergartners
School uniforms made by the widows and abandoned women of the community
Books and stationary
Safe bus transportation for those traveling through high risk areas
Since its beginnings, over three thousand children have been trained in Christian education and have graduated to grade eight.
After starting a church in the slum areas of Katalie, we saw a tremendous need for education and hope. IWE’s recently opened second school is K through third grade and currently has 200 enrolled.
